Minister for Health will formally launch the Mind Your Hearing Campaign

On Monday 14th of September, at 2.00pm Minister for Health Leo Varadkar, T.D., will formally launch the Mind Your Hearing Campaign in the Long Room Hub, Trinity College, Dublin. The primary aim of this national campaign to improve population health is to encourage people who acquire hearing loss in adulthood to take action sooner.

One in three Irish people aged over 60 have a significant disabling hearing loss, yet on average they will wait 10 years before addressing the issue. This delay results in negative outcomes for the individual, their family and friends, and the wider community. Research has also shown that people with an acquired hearing loss who fail to do something about it are much more likely to develop dementia and/or depression as they get older.

We hope you will be able to join us for this event, and we will issue a formal invitiation to you in the near future.

Kind regards
